RV Life Styles

Robbie Molton has been in the RV business and industry for over 10 years and currently works for Florida Outdoors RV Country in Okeechobee, Florida.

I think that a lot of people who get into the RV lifestyle generally start out as a Camper or Weekender. It's a safe and fun things to do. It takes a lot of vulnerability to get out and go full time. It takes an adventurous heart to go out and explore the great outdoors.

This is kind of a detour, but  I've heard it called "wander lust." I was actually at a RV show the other day where Florida Outdoors RV had set up a number of RVs like RV travel trailers and fifth wheel campers. At this show, and elderly couple showed up to look at some RVs. The man was in love with the idea of having an RV and exploring the world. The wife on the other hand was probably there just to appease his "wander lust." It's very interesting how the love and appeal of the RV lifestyle can come over a person so strong. Anyways, back to the RV lifestyles.

The first is the Camper or Weekender. This is where the love of RVing begins. This person will find just about every available weekend to get out there and explore the great unknown. They may tend to rough it in the out doors or just find a quiet place at a national park.

The Vacationer is somewhat similar to the Weekender in that they don't RV all the time. These are the people who may buy an RV because when they visit their in-laws they don't want to stay with them :) Well, I'm not sure if this is quite true, but it sounds good...right? The Vacationer loves to get away from everything and get away, but isn't quite ready for that full-time commitment.

The Snowbirds are the RVers who want to enjoy great weather all the time. In the Winter they are in the South and in the Summer they are up North. It's like the best of both worlds! Though I'm sure many of the Snowbirds love RVing, I would tend to think they love the idea of living in the North and South more.

The last, and not least is the full timer. The full-timer most likely doesn't have a house. These are dedicated people love the RV lifestyle. They have the freedom to park as long as they want anywhere or explore the whole country.

That is my summary of the different lifestyle of RVers. I'd love to here in the comments below what you all categorize yourself as, as an RVer.

I wish the best of RV adventures to you! Relax. Unwind. It's What you Do. :)
